The upcoming events of interest in the world down under are the National Under 21
Championships. They are being held in Australia and New Zealand respectively. Both current and
future senior international players will rub shoulders in their goals to bring success to the teams they represent and possible selection in their countries National Under 21 teams.
The Australian Under21 National Hockey Championships get underway on April 2nd with he men and women playing for state pride in Brisbane and Darwin, respectively.
Hockey Queensland have secured Hockey Zone to broadcast the final day of matches at the men’s competition as well as a bonus match on Sunday April 7th between arch rivals Queensland and New South Wales. We ask the entire hockey community to spread the word and get involved by tuning into the broadcast.

Last year’s men’s champions, Queensland will be doing everything they can to hold off a strong New South Wales team and grand finalist from the last 3 years, Western Australia.
2012 women’s champions New South Wales will look to add another trophy to their cabinet with a win this year. 2012 surprise packet, South Australia will look to make another grand final and fight off strong competition from Queensland.

In New Zealand the 2013 National Under 21 Tournament is being played in Whangarei from May 5th-11th. A men’s and a women’s team from eight regions across the country are playing off throughout the week before the final day of play on Saturday where a winner will be crowned. Amongst the talented players expected to be present will be players who recently returned from the 2013 Under 21 Oceania JWC Qualifier tournament on the Gold Coast, Australia.
