Purpose
Warming up exercise in which the focus is on scoring on the side board in the far corner
Organisation
- place left and right of the goal between 25 and midline two double cones; the distance is about 10m.
- enough balls at these cones, players divided over the two sides
- place in front on these cones on top of the circle left and right an obstacle or a row of cones
- goal keeper in goal or an obstacle in the middle of the goal
Exercise
- player A plays the ball to player B
- player B dribbles towards the corner and goes around on the outside
- player B enters the circle and finishes on goal trying to hit the far corner; in the meantime player C plays the ball to player A
- player A dribbles towards the cones and goes around on the outside
- player A enters the circle and finishes on goal trying to hit the far corner
- if the player succeeds in hitting the sideboard, he will earn one point
- – variation: create a game where the left side plays against the right side; who has the most points?
Instructions
Aiming for the far corner
- the direction of the shot will be defined by:
- position of the left shoulder in the playing direction
- position of the ball: to much behind the body, makes the ball go right; to much in front of the body makes the ball move to the left
- rotation of the wrist
- follow through with the stick
